6/17/2010 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Airmen and Department of Defense civilians will use a new way to purchase savings bonds beginning Sept. 30 as part of the U.S. Department of Treasury's cost-effective plan to issue savings bonds electronically.
Instead of payroll deductions, savings bonds will be available through a direct deposit deduction by setting up a Treasury Direct account. Treasury Direct offers an option for payroll savings using a payroll direct deposit.
