HomeAirman and FamilyRelocation Assistance

Goals

The goal of the Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) is to ease the personal and family stressors military families experience associated with a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) by providing assistance, counseling, sponsorship training, and education throughout all phases of the relocation process.

Background

RAP facilitates the ability to be prepared and resilient by providing critical information, education, referrals, counseling, and workshops for Airmen and their authorized dependents selected for PCS.  The service delivery contributes to the time-honored tradition and culture of taking care of Airmen by providing relocation assistance to Airmen, civilians, and their dependents, to become effective contributors to their unit, installation’s mission, and community.

Relocation Assistance Program

A successful move is not a matter of chance, it is the result of planning and hard work. At the center of these efforts is you, the mover. If you expect a good move, you must play an active role. There are steps you can take and resources available to help you plan and stay organized during your military move. You can access online tools to assist at every stage of the permanent change of station. Two of the most notable are MilitaryINSTALLATIONS and Plan My Move.

MilitaryINSTALLATIONS is an online directory from Military OneSource that provides information about military bases worldwide, for every branch of the military.  Use it to find overview of local installation features, contacts for military and family support programs and services, maps and directions, and other crucial installation information. Plan My Move is online moving tool that simplifies the moving process, breaking it down into clear, manageable steps for both experienced and first-time movers, as well as family members and loved ones. This Department of Defense relocation tool provides details about housing, transportation, finances, family, and more.  See the Resources tab on the side for additional helpful information.
