Currently, Air Force Instruction 36-2805, Special Trophies and Awards nomination packages require 30 typewritten lines (to include headers, if applicable) using the front side of the Air Force Form 1206, Nomination for Award. Effective 1 March 2018, this requirement is changed to a maximum of 18 typewritten lines (to include headers, if applicable).
This guidance is not intended to change or revise submissions already in application or coordination process as some awards have published guidance and suspense dates. In general, exceptions for more than 18 lines will only be granted for those awards sponsored by organizations outside the Air Force, such as GEICO, Spirit of Hope, etc.
If a Special Trophy and Award nomination requires more than 18 lines, this will be stated in the solicitation message for the specific award.
This change does not apply to functional community awards or base level awards; however, we encourage the managers adapt the 18 maximum line requirement.
This is a Total Force message; Military Personnel Flights will ensure widest publicity of clarification to all personnel which they support.
