PATHWAYS - OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECENT GRADUATES AND STUDENTS

The United States Air Force employs more than 143,000 civilians in a full range of occupations. The need to recruit and develop future leaders is a top priority for the Air Force Civilian Service, so we're always interested in connecting with top-performing college graduates, as well as current high school and college students.  Air Force Civilian Service promotes employment opportunities for students and recent graduates through the Pathways Programs.

Pathways for Recent Graduates

For individuals who have graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs in the past two years. These programs include:

PALACE Acquire Program - As part of the Pathways Programs the PALACE Acquire Program offers participants the opportunity to attain a permanent full-time position during a two-four year formal training plan designed to let participants experience both personal and professional growth while dealing effectively and ethically with change, complexity and problem solving.  Participants will receive promotions and yearly salary increases based upon successful performance and supervisory approval.  Upon completion of the formal training plan, the PALACE Acquire Program offers participants a permanent position at the current duty location or within the servicing major command, making this program a great opportunity to begin a successful civilian career with the Air Force Civilian Service.

COPPER CAP Program - The COPPER CAP Program is designed to prepare college graduates for careers as Air Force Civilian Service Contract Specialists. Contract Specialist trainees are assigned to work with professional Contracting Officers and receive formal and on-the-job training in all aspects of contract management including requirements definition, solicitation preparation, price justification, negotiation and award and administration of contracts.

Pathways for Students

For current students seeking a degree, diploma or certificate from a qualifying educational institution.  Includes the popular Internship Program and the Science Mathematics and Research for Transformation Scholarship Program.

These programs provide students the opportunity to gain valuable experience and help prepare them for possible future Air Force employment.  The program also includes temporary summer employment.

MILITARY EXTENSION INTERN PROGRAM

A partnership with Purdue University, Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, and the Air Force provides internship opportunities at Air Force youth centers, child development centers, and other force support activities. As an intern, you will live and work on military installations around the globe for 10 weeks to 6 months. Internship locations in the past include Washington D.C., New Orleans, and Ramstein, Germany. The range of experience is broad, including working directly with children and youth, implementing programs that address their needs, and learning to manage child and youth centers.
