Air Force officials are seeking nominations for the 2011 Lance P. Sijan United States Air Force Leadership Award.

The Sijan award recognizes the accomplishments of officers and enlisted members who have demonstrated the highest quality of leadership in the performance of their duties and their personal lives.

Nominees will be rated on their scope of responsibility, professional leadership, leadership image and community involvement from July 1, 2010, to June 30, 2011.

The four award categories are senior officer, junior officer, senior enlisted and junior enlisted. Individuals will compete in the category that corresponds to the grade held for the majority of the award period.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their major command, field operating agency, or direct reporting unit for applicable suspense dates and additional information regarding nomination procedures.

Each MAJCOM, FOA or DRU may submit one nomination for each of the four award categories. Completed nomination packages must be sent to the Air Force Personnel Center by Sept. 1, 2011.
