Services announces scholarship winners Published Oct. 8, 2010 Air Force Personnel, Services and Manpower Public Affairs Office SAN ANTONIO -- Twenty-five individuals were recently selected to receive $1,000 scholarships through the Air Force Services Club Membership Scholarship Program. Club members and their families were given the opportunity to submit a 500-word essay on "What does it mean to be part of the Air Force Family?" A total of 130 entries were submitted to the Headquarters, Air Force Service Agency for Air Force-level consideration. The 2010 scholarship winners are: - Elizabeth Woodley, spouse of Maj. David B. According to Fred McKenney, Air Force Services Agency Food and Beverage Division Chief, this is the 14th consecutive year Air Force clubs have sponsored this scholarship essay contest in support of the Service's commitment to take care of Airmen and their families. "The Air Force is committed to fostering a sense of community among our total force Airmen, civilians and their families," he said. "Providing a scholarship to help members and their families with the cost of higher education is one way we achieve this. The quality of this year's essays was outstanding, and we look forward to next year's competition."
