The Air Force Personnel Center here is now accepting nominations for the 2010 Verne Orr Award.

The Verne Orr Award is sponsored by the Air Force Association and recognizes an Air Force unit which makes the most effective use of its human resources. The award is open to all Air Force units and organizations regardless of size.

The AFA established this award in honor of former Secretary of the Air Force Verne Orr to recognize mission-oriented unit accomplishments and achievements in utilizing personnel to their full potential in order to accomplish the mission.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their Major Command, Field Operating Unit, Direct Reporting Unit, or equivalent for the appropriate application due date and additional information regarding nomination procedures.

Each MAJCOM, FOA, or DRU may submit one nomination. Completed nominations must be sent to AFPC by March 1, 2010.

For more information about the Verne Orr Award visit AFPC's "Ask" Web site and type "Verne Orr" into the search engine. Or call the Total Force Service Center at (800) 525-0102.
