Air Force accepting nominations for 2009 Lance P. Sijan award

RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  The Air Force is now accepting nominations for the 2009 Lance P. Sijan USAF Leadership Award.

This award recognizes the accomplishments of officers and enlisted members who have demonstrated the highest quality of leadership in the performance of their duties and their personal lives.

Nominees will be rated on their scope of responsibility, professional leadership, leadership image and community involvement during July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2009.

The four award categories are senior officer, junior officer, senior enlisted and junior enlisted. Individuals will compete in the category that corresponds to the grade held for the majority of the award period.

Nomination deadlines will be determined by individual major commands, field operating agencies and direct reporting units.
