Staff Sgt. Scott Lilley, a security forces Airman who was wounded in Iraq, and his parents, were guests of President Bush at the White House Christmas party in December 2008. Sergeant Lilley suffered a severe head wound when his convoy was attacked in Iraq. He was not expected to survive, yet he made a miraculous recovery. Staff Sgt. Scott Lilley, a Security Forces Airman who was wounded in Iraq, was invited to visit General Schwartz, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, in his office in December 2008. Sergeant Lilley suffered a severe head wound when his convoy was attacked in Iraq and was not expected to survive. General Schwartz and Sergeant Lilley discussed the sergeant's wounds, his goals, and the care the Air Force provides to its wounded Airmen. Sergeant Lilley praised the care he has received and told the general of his plans to return to active duty as a Security Forces Instructor.
