AFPC gains excellent rating in UCI

RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  The Air Force Personnel Center received five "outstanding"ratings out of eight areas inspected during the recent Unit Compliance Inspection, receiving an overall "excellent" rating. The Air Force Inspection Agency team from Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., spent Feb. 11-15, going over processes and programs.

During the outbrief to AFPC Airmen, the inspectors praised the financial management section, stating the government travel card program at AFPC is a benchmark program for the Air Force.

"This program, of all we've inspected in the Air Force, is clearly the best we've seen," said Lt. Col. Robert Bement, UCI Inspection Team Chief.

Other areas rated as outstanding included the contracting function, emergency management and security, information management, and communication and information. The information management team showed tremendous improvement from the previous inspection in 2005 going from marginal to outstanding.

Eleven AFPC employees were recognized as superior performers and there were seven Superior Performance Team awards presented.

AFPC Airmen roared with enthusiasm as Maj. Gen. K.C. McClain took the stage after the outbrief in the Randolph base theater to provide her comments.

"I wish I could take credit, but this was all you," said General McClain. "You, the Airmen of AFPC, presented yourselves professionally and proved to the inspectors our people and programs truly are high quality. What a great feeling to have them recognize what we've accomplished here. Way to go!"
