AF 2015 DOD disability award winners announced Published July 23, 2015 By Janis El Shabazz Air Force Personnel Center Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- Tech. Sgt. Brian Williams, Air Mobility Command, and Ms. Stacy Gatling, Air Force Materiel Command, have been selected as the Air Force winners of the 2015 Outstanding Department of Defense Employee\Service Member with a Disability Award. The award honors individual civilian employees and military members with disabilities who supported the DOD mission, overseas contingency operations, or whose activities best demonstrate the core values of their respective military service or agency. Sergeant Williams took part in the annual Soldier Ride at the White House providing global exposure for all combat wounded warriors. He was coined by Present Barack Obama. Additionally, he was recognized for his leadership by the NFL's Carolina Panthers football team as part of their Salute to the Services campaign. Ms. Gatling processed 518 staff packages for review and action by the director and the deputy director. She led the front office in executing two flawless equipment account inspections and cleared the director's calendar for more strategic engagements, leading to procurement of $140 million in customer funding for the directorate.
