Two officers selected for DOD leadership program

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas --  Two Air Force officers have been selected for the Department of Defense Executive Leadership Development Program.

The program - which begins orientation in August - is designed for highly-motivated active duty officers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability, commitment to public service, integrity, and a strong aptitude for success in senior management roles, said Master Sgt. Catrina Baskin, superintendent developmental education branch.

Selectees include: Maj. Jamil Musa and Capt. Paul Tucker.

Participants will function in a simulated environment where they focus on real-life situations that involve short deadlines and require thoughtful decision-making.

"Candidates must be receptive to a unique training methodology, able to assume responsibility for their own learning, and be able to conceptualize and analyze problems effectively," she said.

Military members remain in their current assignments, with the exception of 75 days that are spent in training, briefings and trips to learning environments throughout the program.
