Seventy-five officers from five medical career fields have been selected for squadron command, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced.

The 75 selected were among 107 candidates identified earlier this year. Candidates who are not on the selection list will remain eligible for additional vacancies, as they occur, said Master Sgt. Seymour Brookes, AFPC medical accessions and personnel program manager.

Assignment bids were coordinated among the medical group and wing commanders, senior raters, and command surgeons.

"Selection for squadron command is a significant milestone in an officer's career, and an achievement founded on years of preparation, training, and education," Brookes said. "Squadron command is also an opportunity to have an immediate, direct, positive impact on others' careers and futures."
