Air Force officials are accepting nominations for the 2017 Air Force Association Aerospace Awards through Jan. 6, 2017.

The Aerospace awards recognize the most outstanding contribution to national defense in the fields of science and engineering relating to aerospace activity; flight, in the atmosphere or space; arts and letters, covering a wide range of activities including writing, speaking, media relations, sculpting or painting; and for significantly exceeding standard performance.

All Air Force military members, Department of the Air Force civilians, units or group of individuals are eligible to apply. However, each major command, combatant command, field operating agency or direct reporting unit may submit one nomination for each award.

Nominations should be based on contributions that occur from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2016 and can include projects that were started more than a year ago but were completed during the current calendar year.
