Air Force Personnel Center officials here have selected 11 members to represent their respective installations and major commands as members of this year's Air Force Teen Council.

The teen council is a network of teens who work to resolve issues and voice concerns to Air Force leadership on behalf of Air Force teens worldwide.

"Our goals with the teen council are to cultivate an environment of civil leadership among teens and improve communication between teens and Air Force leadership," said Chester Kline, AFPC Directorate of Services child and youth specialist.

Nine installations have chosen a teen to represent their installation regionally. Two teens were selected to represent their command on the Air Force Teen Council.

The 2012 AFTC members are:
  • Trevon Echols-Johnson, Nellis AFB, Nev. (Pacific Coast Region)
  • Connor Tibbetts, Buckley AFB, Colo. (Southwest Mountain Region)
  • Ebony Sayles, Tinker AFB, Okla. (Southwest Region)
  • Ariel Fisher, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio (Midwest Region)
  • Abby Butikofer, Robins AFB, Ga. (Southeast Region)
  • Dorian Holnes, Joint Base Charleston, S.C. (Southeast Region)
  • Brigid Cruser, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. (Northeast Region)
  • Taylor Carter, Kadena Air Base, Japan (Pacific Air Forces)
  • Xavier Thompson, Royal Air Force Lakenheath (U.S. Air Forces in Europe)
  • Breanna Bowman, Virginia Air National Guard (ANG)
  • Hunter Woodard, Air Force Reserve Command, Ga. (AFRC)
The teen council is part of the Air Force resiliency initiative, and was formed in response to issues identified at the Air Force Teen Forum in 2010. Teens were concerned about a lack of consistency in high performing teen programs, dedicated resources for youth and teen programs and a teen voice on matters impacting them.
