Families cleared to return, move to Yokota, Misawa Published April 22, 2011 By Debbie Gildea Air Force Personnel, Services and Manpower Public Affairs RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Department of State terminated the voluntary departure authorizing DoD dependents to depart from the Island of Honshu, Japan. Stop movement orders for military and DOD civilians headed for Yokota and Misawa air bases in Japan were also terminated and now command sponsored family members have the go ahead to return or continue their movement to Japan. The voluntary departure of dependents and stop movement orders came as a result of significant damage and infrastructure problems caused by a 9.0 earthquake and ensuing tsunami last month. In the aftermath, incoming personnel were restricted from reporting to enable those already on the island to organize, recover and support local needs. To assist Airmen with orders and stop movement related personnel issues, local civilian and military personnel sections have been provided detailed guidance, including instructions on amending orders. Airmen enroute or slated for a permanent change of station move to Japan should contact the local MPS or CPS for more information. For family member guidance and assistance on returning to country, Airmen and families should contact the nearest Airman and Family Readiness Center. In addition, affected members can go to the Air Force personnel services website at https://gum-crm.csd.disa.mil/ or call the Total Force Service Center at 800-525-0102.
