Officials seek nominees for Pitsenbarger Award Published Oct. 22, 2010 Air Force Personnel Center Public Affairs RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Air Force Sergeants Association is seeking nominations for the 2011 Pitsenbarger Award. The AFSA Pitsenbarger Award annually recognizes an Air Force enlisted servicemember who has performed a heroic act, on or off duty, that resulted in saving a life or preventing serious injury to another person or persons. The heroic act must have placed the nominee in risk of personal danger and been a legitimate attempt to save life or prevent serious injury to another person or persons. The award period is Jan. 1, 2010 through Dec. 31, 2010. Nominees must be Air Force enlisted active duty, Guard or Reserve. Each major command, field operating agency and direct reporting unit may only submit one nomination. Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their MAJCOM, FOA or DRU for applicable suspense dates and additional information regarding nomination procedures.
