Air Force officials are soliciting nominations for the 2011 Air Force Association Outstanding Air Force Civilian Employees of the Year Award.

Each year, the AFA recognizes four Air Force civilian employees for outstanding achievement in four categories.

The categories are: Civilian Wage Employee (all Federal Wage System employees); Civilian Program Specialist (General Schedule: GS-1 through GS-11 or equivalent National Security Personnel System pay bands); Civilian Program Manager (GS-12 and GS-13 or equivalent NSPS pay bands); and Civilian Senior Program Manager (GS-14 and GS-15 or equivalent NSPS pay bands).

Nominations will be evaluated on nature of the achievement, development of techniques or procedures that significantly increased mission effectiveness, and breadth of impact.

Each major command, field operating agency and direct reporting unit may only nominate one person for each award.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their MAJCOM, FOA or DRU for applicable suspense dates and additional information regarding nomination procedures.

Completed nomination packages must be sent to the Air Force Personnel Center by Feb. 15, 2011.
