Nominees for 67th Annual Flemming Award announced

Eight Airmen have been nominated for the 67th Annual Arthur S. Flemming Award, Air Force officials said.

The Flemming award annually recognizes outstanding federal employees who have made significant and extraordinary contributions to the federal government.

The following Airmen have been nominated in the identified categories:

Leadership and Management:
-Maj. Christopher Jefferson, National Reconnaissance Office, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, Air Force Space Command, and
-Maj. Aaron Tillman, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.

Legal Achievement
-Capt. Jennifer Lake, Air Force Legal Operations Agency, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Air Force District of Washington, and
-Robert Bowers, Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois,  U.S. Transportation Command.

Applied Science and Engineering:
-Dr. Qing Wu, Air Force Materiel Command, Rome Lab, New York, Air Force Materiel Command, and
-Glenn Creighton, 557th Weather Wing, Offutt Air Force, Nebraska, Air Combat Command.

Basic Science Category:
-Dr. Brien Flewelling, Space Vehicles Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base New Mexico, Air Force Materiel Command, and
-Capt. Michael Butler, Air Force Technical Applications Center with duty under the Defense Intelligence Agency, Science and Technology Directorate, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, Air Combat Command.

The military nominees are authorized to wear the Air Force Recognition Ribbon. The civilian nominees are authorized to wear the Air Force Recognition Lapel Pin.
