AFPC creates checklist to expedite personnel actions Published March 6, 2007 By 030306 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Air Force Personnel Center has created a Request for Personnel Action checklist to help managers during the hiring process. The RPA checklist is a valuable tool used to assist managers and hiring officials manage their civilian positions in a more efficient, timely manner. The checklist was designed to provide AFPC and Civilian Personnel Flights with all pertinent information for all staffing actions, to include recruit/fill and noncompetitive actions. The checklist also eliminates the requirement of calling and speaking to management officials every time an RPA is submitted. When AFPC receives a recruit/fill or noncompetitive RPA, the career field employment team will send the manager an e-mail (with a courtesy copy to the CPF), stating the RPA was received and immediate action will begin as indicated on the checklist. The enhanced checklist will provide all the required information necessary for AFPC and CPF civilian personnel officials to begin taking immediate action. In order to make the checklist more user-friendly and eliminate duplication, position information (staffing and classification) has been combined under one heading. Therefore, when submitting an RPA which does not require classification, the hiring official or servicing Civilian Personnel Flight only completes the "gray shaded" items (items 11-24) of section 'C' Position Data. Several checklist items are bolded in red online with a reference to either Note 1 or Note 2. The Career Field Employment Team will return RPAs and checklists without action if the red bolded items noted below are not completed as outlined in the notes section. -- Note 1 actions, bolded in red, are essential for all types of actions and must be completed or the RPA will be returned without action. -- Note 2 actions, bolded in red, are centrally managed actions that may require additional authorization (up-front approvals). Failure to submit the required documentation or e-mail will result in the request being returned without action.
