AFPC creates single focal point for civilian personnel Published March 13, 2007 By 050506 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Air Force Personnel Center takes another step in the pursuit of delivering great personnel services by centralizing civilian personnel management into a single operation for developing the Air Force civilian workforce. The Directorate of Civilian Force Integration (DPI) will combine the missions of the Directorate of Civilian Employment, Directorate of Civilian Force Management and the Civilian Field Operations Branch creating a 'cradle to grave' focused civilian personnel function. "Our vision is one Air Force, one civilian personnel system, one centralized civilian personnel process," said Col. James Sturch, who will be leading the new directorate. "This [AFPC] will be the mecca for civilian personnel." DPI is projected to meet initial operating capacity in July, in the interim; there will be a comprehensive review of all business processes focused on increased effectives and better and faster customer service. Employees may continue to access information and services using the normal methods. Likewise, they may continue using the same contact information to reach their career field functional managers. Prospective employees can inquire about job openings they have applied for by calling (800) 616-3775.
