Air Force services professionals were presented International Military Community Executive Association Awards during the Armed Forces Food and Beverage Workshop held here July 18-22.

The annual conference and tradeshow allows military food and beverage professionals to network and stay abreast of current food industry trends. The award winners include:

Irving Rubenstein Memorial Award - Judy Bargo, bowling center manager at Ellsworth AFB, S.D. This award recognizes one morale, welfare and recreation or services professional from each of the five branches of the Armed Forces who have been in a management position for less than two years. Winners display exceptional management skill and leadership, achieve particularly outstanding performance results in their respective programs, and possess great potential for continued success in military MWR and services.

IMCEA and Paul Reece Founders Award - Rick Winland, food and beverage operations chief at Yokota Air Base, Japan. This award recognizes those who are instrumental in establishing and developing active IMCEA chapters, those who are responsible for membership recruitment in large numbers that help to keep the organization strong, and other such achievements that directly relate to the growth and sustainment of IMCEA.

IMCEA Hall of Fame inductee - Fred McKenney, Air Force food and beverage division chief at the Air Force Services Agency, San Antonio, Texas. This award is the highest honor given to IMCEA members. Inductees achieve major success within the military MWR and services profession through consistent exemplary leadership, innovation and creativity, dedication, care and resourcefulness.

McKenney served as the national IMCEA president for the past 16 months and previously served on the national board of directors as secretary, treasurer and vice president. McKenney was instrumental in coordinating this year's Armed Forces Food and Beverage Workshop and the event has doubled in participation since its inception.

IMCEA is an international organization that advances the professional development of U.S. military MWR and services managers worldwide, to improve the quality of life for uniformed service members and their families.
