Cox and Jones were deployed together to Baghdad in 2009. During their deployment, their convoys were attacked simultaneously. An explosion flipped Jones’ Humvee and left her submerged in water. The former security forces Airmen hadn’t seen each other in four years and did not know the other would be attending. The camp became a reunion for them. Cox gladly helped his friend attempt to overcome her fear of water during their time in the pool.
