Nominations open for 2011 National Public Service Award

Awards and decorations officials at the Air Force Personnel Center here are seeking nominations for the 2011 National Public Service Award.

The National Public Service Award recognizes individuals with agency-wide responsibility who exhibit the highest standards of excellence, dedication, and accomplishment over a sustained period of time, and who are creative and highly skilled career managers at all levels of public service.

This award is open to both military and federal employees who have spent a significant portion of their careers as public service practitioners at the federal, state, local, or international levels of government or in nonprofit organizations that provided direct public service.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their major command, field operating agency, direct reporting unit or MAJCOM equivalent for applicable suspense dates and for additional information regarding nomination procedures.

Each MAJCOM, FOA, or DRU may submit one nomination. Completed nomination packages must be sent to AFPC by August 1, 2010.
