AF officials announce officer selections

RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  The 2009A Line of the Air Force, Biomedical Science Corps, and Nurse Corps central selection boards recently selected 466 lieutenant colonels, 92 majors and 271 captains for promotion.

The boards considered 4,156 lieutenant colonels, 729 majors and 407 captains for promotion. The results of the boards are as follows:

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for colonel:
LAF - 372 selected from 846 considered for a 44 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for colonel:
LAF - 25 selected from 901 considered for a 2.8 percent select rate

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for colonel:
LAF - 69 selected from 2,409 considered for a 2.9 percent select rate

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
NC - 45 selected from 74 considered for a 60.8 percent select rate
BSC - 35 selected from 61 considered for a 57.4 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
NC - 2 selected from 100 considered for a 2 percent select rate
BSC - 3 selected from 128 considered for a 2.3 percent select rate

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
NC - 5 selected from 204 considered for a 2.5 percent select rate
BSC - 2 selected from 162 considered for a 1.2 percent select rate

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for major:
NC - 112 selected from 145 considered for a 77.2 percent select rate
BSC - 137 selected from 155 considered for a 88.4 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for major:
NC - 19 selected from 92 considered for a 20.7 percent select rate
BSC - 3 selected from 15 considered for a 20 percent select rate
