Personnel Center announces major upgrade of AFPC Secure

  • Published
A new, updated version of AFPC Secure will go live on July 19. All Air Force Personnel Center Secure web applications will be down from 6 a.m. Central Daylight time July 19 until 4 p.m. CDT July 20 to support this changeover. After July 20, users should replace any book-marked links for AFPC Secure with the new links.

Air Force Portal will update the links automatically on users' workspaces by July 22; however, users will need to delete any old links in their favorites and select the new link for AFPC Secure from the A-Z listing.

The changes incorporated in this version improve security by integrating new Department of Defense and Air Force security requirements for minimum 15 character passwords. Users using the Common Access Card exclusively will be forced to either update their passwords or delete them. All users are now given the option, at any time, to delete the password associated with their account, thus making it even more secure.

The upgrade also gives AFPC Secure an improved "look and feel." Users will be able to select applications by link with the option to have all links viewable (turn paging off) or may view only application links in increments of five, up to 30 links total. A new message center will provide hot information to the user. Users will also be able to view their authorized web applications under the top-viewed AFPC Secure military and civilian web applications.
