JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- The Department of the Air Force, through the Air Force Civilian Service, launched a pilot initiative designed to strengthen connections between qualified DAF spouses and federal employment opportunities.
The Global Military Spouse Connection serves as a connection between talented DAF active-duty spouses relocating and local hiring managers by increasing awareness of career opportunities, expanding professional networks, and maximizing federal hiring flexibilities available to military spouses. The initiative helps spouses navigate DAF federal employment pathways while building meaningful connections within the community.
Travis AFB, Calif., Patrick SFB, Fla., and Ramstein AB, Germany are the pilot locations for the first phase of the initiative, providing a foundation for future expansion across additional Air Force and Space Force installations. Through targeted outreach, networking opportunities, educational resources, and direct engagement with hiring managers, the program aims to strengthen workforce readiness while supporting military families.
"Military spouses bring exceptional talent, resilience, adaptability, and leadership to the workforce," said Enrique “Rick” Jones, GMSC Program Manager. “The Global Military Spouse Connection connects talent with opportunity by creating pathways for engagement, networking, and career exploration within the Department of the Air Force."
GMSC is not a job placement program. Instead, it serves as a centralized connection point that helps qualified active-duty DAF spouses better understand federal employment pathways, available hiring authorities, and career opportunities across the Department.
The pilot launch reflects AFCS’s commitment to attracting and retaining top talent while supporting the Department of War SpouseWorks objective of assisting military spouses to develop skills, with career advice, and find jobs.
