Air Force activates accountability system in response to Hurricane Irma Published Sept. 8, 2017 By Richard Salomon Air Force Personnel Center Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- Air Force officials recently activated the Air Force Personnel Accountability and Assessment System, or AFPAAS, for Total Force personnel and their family members who may be affected by Hurricane Irma, a powerful storm that is expected to hit the southern U.S. this weekend. AFPAAS monitors the status and location of all personnel and family members who may be affected by the storm. The system allows commanders and units to account, assess, manage and monitor the recovery of personnel and their families affected by wide-spread catastrophic events. “AFPAAS is an important tool that helps senior leaders keep track of their personnel and their family members,” said Staff Sgt. Brandi Bailey, NCO in charge of AFPAAS. “The information is completely protected and is critical if or when a large-scale disaster or event occurs.” Airmen and civilians in the impacted area are required to log in to the AFPAAS system at https://afpaas.af.mil and account for themselves and their family members. Members can use a smartphone to log into the website via a user ID and password. New or updated password and username information can be obtained or established on the site. Individuals who do not have computer access should contact their unit control center. Those who cannot contact the UCC should call the Air Force Personnel Center’s readiness cell at 800-435-9941 or DSN 665-2020. For more information, Airmen can visit myPers and enter “AFPAAS” in the search menu. Individuals who do not have a myPers account can request one by following these instructions.
