JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- The Air Force has selected 472 senior master sergeants for promotion to chief master sergeant out of 2,142 eligible for a selection rate of 22.04 percent in the 17E9 promotion cycle.
The average overall score for those selected was 486.71. Selectees’ average time in grade was 2.98 years and time in service was 20.97 years. The average decorations score was 24.01 and the average United States Air Force Supervisory Exam score was 71.81. The average board score was 390.89.
The chief master sergeant promotion list is available on the Air Force Portal and myPers. Airmen can also access their score notices on the virtual MPF via the secure applications page.
Those selected will be promoted according to their promotion sequence number beginning in January. Prior to posting the list on myPers, the Air Force’s Personnel center provided commanders, senior raters and trusted agents with advanced knowledge of their Airmen’s selection with the intention that selects be notified no earlier than one day before the public release.
