The Air Force’s Personnel Center is accepting nomination packages from Department of the Air Force civilians for more than 35 Civilian Development programs starting Jan. 11.

Opportunities are available for civilian employees in the grades of GS-7 through GS-15 (and equivalent) and include Professional Military Education, academic programs, fellowships, leadership seminars, and experiential assignments.

“Whether civilians are just starting out in government service or they have years of experience, these programs offer a wealth of leadership information and exposure,” said Mrs. Dana Hodges, Civilian Leadership Development Program Manager here. “These programs open a world of opportunities that will benefit participants throughout their careers.”

The development and leadership programs offered through CD are mapped to the Department of the DAF’s institutional competencies, which are key to ensuring all Airmen and Guardians can operate successfully in a constantly changing environment. These competencies span all occupations, functions, and organizational levels and support the development of today’s and tomorrow’s DAF leaders.

The CD programs help develop civilian Airmen and Guardians to meet DAF requirements through both short and long-term training and assignments. Civilian Development opportunities range from three days to three years and some are through virtual delivery platforms while others are in person.

Department of the Air Force civilians may apply for up to four programs by submitting their application, resume, and additional required documents based on the specific CD program through MyVector.  Applicants must self-nominate no later than Feb. 17, although local organizations may establish earlier deadlines. The application flows through the chain of command and must arrive at AFPC through MyVector by March 10.
