Eligible officers interested in test squadron or flight test squadron command opportunities must ensure their Airman Development Plan and statement of intent are up-to-date and nomination package is complete, coordinated and submitted by Aug. 20, Air Force Personnel Center officials said today.

The Air Force Test Eagle 2013 Operations Squadron Commander Candidate Selection Board convenes Sept. 25 at AFPC to select candidates for projected 2013 flight test, test and operations support squadron command vacancies, said Maj. Miles Middleton, operations staff assignments officer.

Applicants must be available to assume command between January and December 2013, and all candidates will be considered world-wide command-eligible, he added.

"Test squadron commanders have significant impact on future Air Force operations, weapons systems and platform acquisition, so nominating officials should evaluate their candidates carefully and submit only the most qualified members," said Middleton.

Nominees must prepare their own application packages and submit them through their chain for nominating official recommendation.
