AF selects 2,450 for colonel, lieutenant colonel, major

More than 2,450 officers were selected for promotion to colonel, lieutenant colonel and major during the 2011C Colonel Medical Service Corps and Lieutenant Colonel Nurse Corps and the 2011D Major Line of the Air Force central selection boards, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced today.

The boards selected 15 of the 92 lieutenant colonels considered for promotion to colonel, 89 of 427 majors considered for promotion to lieutenant colonel, and 2,350 of the 3,026 captains considered for promotion to major.

MSC - 13 selected from 25 considered for 52.0 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for colonel:
MSC - 1 selected from 16 considered for 6.3 percent select rate

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for colonel:
MSC - 1 selected from 51 considered for 2.0 percent select rate

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
NC - 78 selected from 127 considered for 61.4 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
NC - 3 selected from 83 considered for 3.6 percent select rate

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
NC - 8 selected from 217 considered for 3.7 percent select rate

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for major:
LAF - 2331 selected from 2611 considered for 89.3 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for major:
LAF - 19 selected from 415 considered for 4.6 percent select rate
