Organizations earn Meritorious Unit Award Published March 20, 2012 By Gloria Kwizera Air Force Personnel, Services and Manpower Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- The Secretary of the Air Force Personnel Council named five organizations as 2010 to 2011 Air Force Meritorious Unit Award winners for the periods indicated. -- 1st, 2nd, 3rd Combat Camera Squadrons, Oct. 1, 2009-Sept. 30, 2010. -- 361st Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group, Jan. 1, 2010-Dec. 31, 2010. -- 9th Air and Space Expeditionary Task Force-Iraq, June 1, 2010-Dec. 19, 2010. Airmen assigned or attached to an identified organization for at least one day during the period for which a unit award was awarded, and who directly contributed to the mission and accomplishments of the unit, are authorized to wear the appropriate award ribbon on their uniforms. Subordinate units assigned directly to parent organizations can share in this award as long as they have been identified by the parent unit as eligible. Active duty, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve members assigned to a named organization during the indicated time can contact their servicing force support squadrons to have the award information updated in their records. Airmen who have had a permanent change of station or assignment, and who are entitled to share in the approved unit award, should contact their servicing force support squadron for assistance. The Air Force Personnel Center Special Recognitions Branch will update the award database to reflect the winning organizations and approved subordinate units.
