Air Force Materiel Command operations and test squadron command candidates were selected during the 2012 Test Eagle Board held in September at the Air Force Personnel Center, officials announced.

The board selected candidates to fill 2012 AFMC command vacancies, said Maj. Brandon Miller, AFPC assignment officer.

Of the 80 officers considered, 33 were included on the candidate list, said Miller. Candidates who are not matched to an open command position will remain on the candidate list in the event of an unexpected vacancy, he added.

All officers on the squadron command candidate list are considered volunteers for worldwide command opportunities, including indeterminate temporary duty, the major explained.

"AFMC squadron commanders directly impact Air Force mission accomplishment," said Miller. "Test commanders are closely involved in delivering war-winning technology and expeditionary capabilities to the warfighter, and every aspect of those roles requires peerless leadership," he added.

The 2013 Test Eagle Board will be held in September 2012.
