Deadline approaching for employee with a disability award

Airmen are reminded that the deadline for submitting nominations for the 2011 Outstanding Department of Defense Employee with a Disability Award to the Air Force Personnel Center is May 14.

This Secretary of Defense award recognizes the contributions and achievements made by physically or mentally disabled federal employees within the DOD.

The award is open to federal employees who demonstrate job performance clearly exceeding requirements in spite of severely limiting physical or mental factors, and exhibit courage and initiative in overcoming disabilities. The award period is Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2010.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their major command, field operating agency, or direct reporting unit for applicable suspense dates and additional information regarding nomination procedures.

Each MAJCOM, FOA or DRU may submit one nomination.
