Nominees sought for 2011 William T. Pecora Award Published Nov. 2, 2010 Air Force Personnel, Service and Manpower Public Affairs RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Department of the Interior and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration are soliciting nominations for the 2011 William T. Pecora Award. The Pecora Award is presented annually to individuals or groups that make outstanding contributions toward understanding the Earth by means of remote sensing. The award was established in 1974 in memory of Dr. William T. Pecora, whose early vision and support helped establish the Landsat satellite program. Nomination eligibility extends to any individual or group working in the field of remote sensing of the Earth.
