Air Force officials to announce chief master sergeant selections

Air Force officials selected 520 of 2,415 eligible senior master sergeants for promotion to chief master sergeant for a selection rate of 21.53 percent.

The average score for those selected was 661.90, with an average time in grade and time in service of 3.47 and 23.06 years respectively, and 24.34 for decorations. The average score was based on the following point averages: 135.00 for enlisted performance reports, 68.09 for the Air Force supervisory exam and 383.60 board score.

The chief master sergeant promotion list will be released publicly Nov. 12 at 8 a.m. Central Standard Time on the Air Force Personnel Center's public Web site and on AFPC's "Ask" site at Spotlight and Enlisted Promotions.

At 9 a.m. CST Nov. 12, Airmen can access their score notices on the virtual MPF and the AF Portal.

Those selected for chief master sergeant will be promoted according to their promotion sequence number beginning January 2009

As a reminder, the selections are tentative until the data verification process is complete, which is no later than 10 days after the promotion release date. AFPC officials will notify Airmen, via military personnel sections, if their selection is in question.
