AF selects 42 physician assistant training program candidates Published April 15, 2016 Air Force Personnel Center Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- The Air Force has selected 42 active duty Airmen for the Interservice Physician Assistant Program with phase one training beginning in August at Fort Sam Houston. "The 29-month program is open to enlisted, officers and academy and reserve officer training corps cadets," said Kevin Smith, Air Force Personnel Center biomedical sciences corps education manager. The program includes 16 months of academic training followed by 13 months of "clerkship" at a military medical facility, Smith said. The Airmen selected for this year's program are comprised of one officer, one cadet and 40 enlisted active duty members. The names below are listed by grade for each class start date.
