Air Force announces medical, dental officer promotions

RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  The Air Force recently selected 67 lieutenant colonels, 173 majors and 308 captains in the medical corps and dental corps for promotion.

The board considered 1,310 officers for promotion. The results of the promotion board are as follows:

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for colonel:
Dental corps -- 21 selected from 25 considered for 84 percent select rate
Medical corps -- 38 selected from 61 considered for 62.3 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for colonel:
DC -- 2 selected from 27 considered for 7.4 percent select rate
MC -- 3 selected from 76 considered for 3.9 percent select rate

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for colonel:
DC -- 1 selected from 73 considered for 1.4 percent select rate
MC -- 2 selected from 165 considered for 1.2 percent select rate

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
DC -- 33 selected from 33 considered for 100 percent select rate
MC -- 133 selected from 135 considered for 98.5 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
DC -- 0 selected from 1 considered for 0 percent select rate
MC -- 0 selected from 2 considered for 0 percent select rate

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
DC -- 1 selected from 47 considered for 2.1 percent select rate
MC -- 6 selected from 351 considered for 1.7 percent select rate

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for major:
DC -- 28 selected from 29 considered for 96.6 percent select rate
MC -- 277 selected from 280 considered for 98.9 percent select rate

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for major:
DC -- none considered
MC -- 3 selected from 5 considered for 60 percent select rate

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for major:
DC - there were no below-the-zone promotions
MC -- there were no below-the-zone promotions
