Chief Master Sergeant Edwin Ludwigsen is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, Headquarters, Air Force Personnel Center, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. The center executes programs covering the entire life cycle of military and civilian personnel for the Air Force and Space Force; including readiness, deployment, development and growth. As the Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL), Chief Ludwigsen serves as the primary advisor to the center's commander on the effective use of 2,200 military, civilian and contractor personnel dedicated to caring for nearly 2.3 million Airmen, Guardians, retirees and family members. In addition, the center manages and tracks the execution of delivering air, space, and cyberspace power to combatant commanders by ensuring units have the right number of skilled personnel in the proper grades and specialties to complete their missions.
Chief Ludwigsen grew up in Spring Lake, N.C., and entered the Air Force in February 1995. His professional background includes various leadership positions within the logistics and fuels management communities; including the Air Staff, Air Force Petroleum Agency, USAFE Fuels Functional Manager and Logistics Readiness Group SEL. Chief Ludwigsen’s service includes assignments in California, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Hawaii with overseas assignments in Panama, Germany, and Italy. He also deployed in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa.
Prior to this assignment Chief Ludwigsen served as the Chief of the Chiefs’ Group, Air Force Senior Leader Management Office, Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower, Personnel, and Services, Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
