The Air Force selected 719 active-duty officers for promotion to major during the recent P0426A and P0426B central selection boards (Medical Corps, Dental Corps, Nurse Corps, Medical Service Corps, and Biomedical Service Corps categories).

Air Force officials selected 4,475 Air Force Technical Sergeants for promotion to Master Sergeant out of 21,552 eligibles for a selection rate of 20.76 percent in the 26E7 promotion cycle.

The Air Force selected 382 active-duty majors for promotion to lieutenant colonel during recent P0525B (Chaplain, Judge Advocate General, Nurse Corps, Medical Service Corps, Biomedical Sciences Corps) and M0525A (Dental Corps and Medical Corps) central selection boards.

The Air Force and Space Force achieved annual recruiting goals five months ahead of schedule, contracting 32,000 new active-duty Airmen and Guardians needed for the fiscal year. To date, both services have sent nearly 25,000 active-duty recruits to basic military training, while the remaining personnel are scheduled to begin training by Sept. 30.

Eligible active-duty aviators have from April 1 until May 31 to apply for the fiscal year 2026 aviation bonus, Air Force officials announced April 1, 2026.
