Local Girl Scouts raise money for cookies for deployed servicemembers
Tech. Sgt. Shauna Walker and Staff Sgt. Sunshine Scarbrough (far right), Air Force Personnel Center community outreach coordinators, receive 515 boxes of Girl Scout cookies from Samantha Frank and Madison Albrecht, Girl Scout Troop 2642 members, March 4 at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. The 12-year-old girls raised the money to purchase the cookies from local businesses and community members. Each box has an original poem written by Albrecht thanking the servicemembers for their sacrifice and service to the nation. These cookies will be shipped to deployed servicemembers in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other countries in the Middle East. This is the second year Albrecht has raised money to purchase Girl Scout cookies for deployed servicemembers.
