AF selects 875 in CY17C captains quarterly selection process

First lieutenants selected for promotion to captain are promoted on the two-year anniversary of their current grade date of rank or upon approval from the Secretary of Defense, whichever is later. Unless notified otherwise, promotions to captain are effective on the date indicated on an individual’s promotion notification Report on Individual Personnel (RIP).
